Our client is a successful and growing food processing company. The company manufactures and sells gluten-free whole grain oat products to food manufacturers specializing in the gluten-free and celiac markets. In addition, the company manufactures and markets a full line of retail ready products. The company has an immediate requirement to hire a National Key Account Manager.
The National Key Account Manager is responsible for achieving outstanding business results through managing, developing and strengthening all current customer relationships in the consumer product segment. In addition, the successful candidate will develop and execute a strategy to expand the business through new customer relationships with distributors, new market segments and major retail customers.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Strong leadership skills to partner with the distributor network in Canada to develop sales objectives, incentives and tactics which enable joint accountability for growth in revenue Manage business development initiatives with major retail accounts including the ability to utilize retail data management to drive increased business results Manage and improve the complete sales process including customer relationship management, price negotiations, logistics co-ordination and sales planning Understand and be able to fluently communicate our clients value proposition as well as individual product competitive differentiation Set direction, objectives and strategies for national sales activities and regional targeting Build strong relationships internally and with customers/distributors translating knowledge of our clients internal competencies and brand strategies into strategic advantages for customers Integrate with Brand management to advocate for customer needs and influence and support customer centric brand and marketing programs Build and maintain knowledge base of competitors and consumer/customer trends in the marketplace/industry, integrating this information into strategic recommendations Regular and frequent contact with customers including extensive travel requirements
Education & Experience:
5–10 years senior account management experience Previous consumer goods and food industry experience University degree – Business education preferred CRM knowledge and experience an asset
