Our client is a successful and growing oat processing company. The company has an immediate requirement to hire a Food Safety Coordinator for its Regina processing plant.
The Food Safety Coordinator reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and is responsible for the following;
Oversee the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) Develop and monitor Food Safety policies and procedures Organize and maintain the FSSC22000 program Work with auditing firms on scheduling of audits, audit agendas and plant preparations for audit Organize and Lead Food Safety Team Meetings Ensure Corrective Actions are addressed in a timely manner Train all personnel and contractors on GMPs and key food safety items Understand government regulations (Canada, USA and EU) Verify records that support the FSMS Ensure company food safety objectives are on track Finished Product Testing, Environmental Monitoring Filling out Customer Questionnaires related to Food Safety
Attention to detail Good oral and written communication Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain and improve the FSMS and enhance inter-departmental interactions Mechanical aptitude to understand the process Ability to multi-task and prioritize job duties without close supervision Support Company goals Knowledge of HACCP/GFSI or other food safety programs is an asset Knowledge of Excel, Word and Power Point
B.Sc. or B.S.A. or its equivalent in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science or related Field.
