Our award-winning food manufacturing client is currently recruiting an Operations Supervisor for its processing plant in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
This position requires an energetic and experienced individual with a bias for action to support the explosive growth of the Company. Reporting to the V.P. of Operations, the successful candidate will supervise and schedule all packaging, production, warehouse and sanitation areas and to ensure that the Company meets their production targets within the parameters of safety, quality and efficiency.
Supervise and provide leadership to all Lead Hands. Provide training, coaching and guidance to Team Members as required to ensure an effective, safe, quality and efficient work environment. Lead the Team and operate equipment to reduce downtime and troubleshoot problems. Observe and provide guidance to personnel in following GMPs and Food Safety programs. Produce work schedules and ensure production schedules are met. Follow work schedules/plans and ensure productivity output meets requirements. Maintain reports for electronic time cards. Generate daily and weekly production reports. Cross check and verify all work orders for production. Engage in coaching as well as discipline. Conduct daily stand-up meetings and attendance checks. Serve as a member of the Workplace Safety and Health Committee. Work closely with Sales to forecast future production needs. Follow and implement all regulatory measures in containers and shipping tags. Schedule for waste pick up and waste disposal. Instruct on daily sanitation and reviews on a regular basis.
Experience leading and coaching Production/Plant personnel. 2 - 3 years experience in maintaining, producing and regulating inventory. Diploma or Certification in Business or equivalent experience. Experience working in a quality certified food manufacturing environment is a definite asset.
