Human Resources Manager - POSITION FILLED

Our food industry client is currently recruiting a Human Resources Manager for its food processing operation in Winnipeg.

Position Summary:

This position is a member of the senior leadership team. The incumbent’s main accountabilities are in providing direct human resource support to over 1400 employees across the facility. The role includes providing coaching, instruction and direction to functional managers, supervisors, and HR staff in the areas of labour relations, performance management, salary administration, recruitment and selection, manpower planning, employee relations, and training and development.

Position Responsibilities:

• Lead the HR team at the facility in delivering HR partnership and service.
• Develop and implement recruiting and retention strategies for the facility.
• Responsible for the relationship with the local Union including, leading and assisting plant management in collective agreement interpretations and management.
• Develops and implements effective human resource strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency of the Plant and for staff development activities, employee engagement and recognition.
• Manage training and development programs to ensure that current and future planning needs are met for both hourly and salary employee groups.
• Provides sound advice and legislated guidance on all matters pertaining to people to protect the interests of the Plant, and enhance business operations activities.
• Manage processes such as Performance Management, Compensation reviews, Leadership and Supervisory development.

Qualifications:

• Formal education in HR, Business and/or a combination of Plant experience and formal education is required.
• Experience managing a large HR department or multiple sites in a food manufacturing or production environment is essential.
• The incumbent has a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a unionized environment with labour management experience.
• Strong business acumen and demonstrated strong analytical skills
