Our client is a leader in the Agri-food industry and operates several plants and distribution centers throughout Canada. The company exports its products to more than 60 countries world wide.
This position is located in Central Alberta and reports to the Plant Manager.
• Manage overall warehouse operations including shipping to ensure efficiency and productivity in the areas of inbound, outbound, inventory, order fulfillment, quality, cost control, transportation, building maintenance and safety while ensuring compliance with company policies, HACCP regulations and the Collective Agreement. • Manage customer service activities including order entry, customer satisfaction, interface with sales, production, regulatory and quality control including resolving customer complaints. • Drive operational performance by controlling expenses and labour costs, maintain inventory accuracy by developing strategies and recommendations to leverage efficiencies, minimize costs and contribute to the warehouse profitability. • Negotiate all freight rates for local and long haul deliveries, evaluating annually to maintain current information and maximize service levels. • Ensure all safety norms are observed by all the personnel and contribute to attain Zero accident rate in the Warehouse. • Assist in the development of the annual Warehouse budget and objectives.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Post-secondary education or equivalent, plus minimum 5+ years senior management experience in logistics, warehouse and transportation environment – preferably in a food processing industry. • Professional designation (such as CITT, P. Log, PMAC) or equivalent industry experience. • Knowledge of transportation tracking modules, warehouse and system implementations. • Strong leadership and management skills in leading high-performance teams in a unionized environment. • High level of integrity and the ability to work independently and as a part of a team. • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Excel, Word). • High level of written and verbal communication skills are essential to effectively communicate with stakeholders – both internal and external.
