The Shipping Supervisor is directly
responsible for the supervision of hourly production
employees. This includes directing their activities and

Responsibilities:

Deliver on the Company’s Brand
Promise: Providing defect-free products, with service levels
greater than 98% at the lowest processing costs in the
industry.

Work with the maintenance group to ensure
production employees are appropriately trained in how to
operate equipment, the equipment is operated properly and
equipment downtime can be minimized.

Provide direct supervision to accomplish
employee, workplace and food safety objectives.

Train and provide orientation to the
production facility for new employees. Ensure adequate
training on all production equipment for all new hourly
employees.

Search out and implement continuous
improvement in operating processes and procedures.
Encourage production employees’ ownership of continuous
improvement program and outcomes.
·
Provide leadership on workplace safety,
occupational health and food safety initiatives with hourly
production staff. Develop and maintain a thorough
understanding of and compliance with all food safety and
Company policies, operating procedures and regulatory
requirements for both yourself and your employees.
·
Manage hourly production employee
performance, on both an individual and a team basis.
Establish and track performance to targets, budgets and
operating plans. Track and monitor hourly staff attendance
and administer constructive discipline in line with
Company’s discipline policy.

Conduct accident investigations as required,
including making and implementing any recommendations for
policy changes, operational impacts or procedural changes.
·

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:
· The
successful incumbent will either have a Community college /
university education; or an equivalent combination of
related experience and education. Familiarization with the
meat processing industry, including performance and product
standards is required to be successful in this position.
· Good
understanding of all Microsoft office suite applications is
required
· Effective
communication skills, to properly lead, engage and motivate
individuals and teams are critical for success in this
position.
